Sankranthi Sambaralu Celebrations, which were conducted successfully on 09 January 2026 at Dr. B. S. Rao Memorial IMA Hall, Kakinada.
Overview
The event was organised with the objective of fostering unity, cultural bonding, and family participation among IMA members, while celebrating the traditional spirit of Sankranthi in an inclusive and joyful manner. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from doctors, spouses, children, and family members, making it a vibrant community celebration.
Programme Highlights
The celebrations commenced at 2:00 PM and continued into the evening, followed by dinner. The programme included a rich mix of cultural, traditional, and recreational activities as per the approved schedule .
Key events included:
– Rangoli Competition with group participation and creative traditional themes
– Sri Ganesha Shloka recital
– Master Chefs Event, showcasing homemade traditional delicacies
– Fun Games for adults and children
– Traditional Folk Performances such as Haridasu, Gangireddulu, Kolatam, Pittala Dora, and Kodi Punjulu
– Kite Flying and Bhogipallu for children
– Karra Saamu and surprise games
– Housie, followed by Prize Distribution and Felicitation
A traditional dress code was followed by participants, enhancing the cultural ambience. Refreshments were provided throughout the programme, and dinner was served to all attendees.
Organisation & Participation
All competitive events were conducted with clear guidelines, prior enrolment, and time discipline. Hygiene, safety, and inclusivity were strictly maintained. The response from members and families was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting strong camaraderie within the IMA fraternity.
