The History of IMA Kakinada Building
1990s
Foundation & Vision
The foundation for the IMA Kakinada building was laid on 29th September 1990, driven by the collective vision of senior members to establish a dedicated space for the medical community.
1991
Inauguration of the Building
The Dr. B. Shanmukheswara Rao Memorial Building was inaugurated on 11th October 1991 at Siddhartha Nagar, Kakinada.
This milestone marked the beginning of a permanent hub for academic, professional, and social activities of IMA Kakinada.
1990s–2000s
Growth & Utilisation
The building quickly became a center for:
- Medical meetings and discussions
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs
- Professional collaborations
With facilities including an auditorium, guest rooms, and office space, it supported the growing needs of the association.
2004
Commemoration Hall Milestone
The Commemoration Hall was inaugurated on 24th November 2004 during the 45th Annual Medical Conference of IMA Andhra Pradesh State.
This development elevated IMA Kakinada as a prominent venue for hosting major academic and state-level conferences.
